So, for my son Landon’s 6th birthday we decided to make Angry Bird cupcakes from my niece showing us some that were on Pinterest. The cupcakes were from an article/blog from thecraftingchicks.com. Their website gives very good detailed ingredient lists and instructions. So, I decided to go for it and here is how our birds/pigs turned out and the steps leading up to it…
First, I set everything out and had the icing ready by putting the Wilton Gel Food Colors (I got the pastel colors) in the icing.
The Crafting Chicks suggested putting the sprinkles in bowls and to dip your cupcake in it as an easier way to get the sprinkles on to make it look like feathers.
I cut the ends off the big marshmallows for the bellies of the birds instead of into thirds as they suggested. Also, I could not find single strand licorice at the grocery store here, so I got the Twizzler brand black licorice and cut them in half lengthwise.
And….Drum roll….Once they were put together by mainly looking at the picture of The Sister Chicks picture of their birds~
The Finished Product!
Here is Landon about to blow out his candles at his party and a friend eating hers. :)
