Have you been “BOOed” lately? My neighbor and friend, Gina introduced me to “BOOing” just recently, as our little ones went to 6 different houses with us in the close distance. At each house door (after ringing the door bell, laughing hysterically, and running away as fast as their little legs would carry them) they would leave a treat bag with Halloween goodies and a note that said they had been “BOOed” with a poem and instructions on picking two houses (without the “We’ve been BOOed” sign up) to share the “BOO” love. What a fun way to get your kids excited for Halloween and prolong this short holiday just a little bit more. To get your own “BOO” poem signs and instructions go to
This website has a lot of craft ideas and activities for the different holidays that I plan to check out also. Another great ebook that I’ve been meaning to post shares a SUPER fun activity to do with your kids during the upcoming, somewhat in the distance Christmas season. I’ve mentioned it before and it’s an ebook called Truth in the Tinsel. A super fun way (your kids will not be able to wait each day for it) to share the true meaning of Christmas in a hands-on way. Not your traditional advent calendar.
My kids LOVED doing this the entire month of December last year (you can start it at the beginning of December, but tailor it to your schedule). It is a very well-made ebook giving you a list of materials you will need, ideas of other things to use if you don’t have something in the material list~ so you don’t have to go and buy a bunch of things, an overview of all the activities/days, detailed lesson plan-like day by day instructions on what to read in the Bible, the materials you will use that lesson, and step by step directions on how to make the ornament to go with that days reading. It was so much fun to start to see the Christmas story unfold on our Christmas tree each day! This is something we will definitely do each year.
Now… go get your “BOO” on… :-)
