So my hope for my website is to gear it more towards a tool for me to design websites for other people and making my blog a page on my website, which I have been playing with already. My blog will still be me blogging about what is important to me (which most posts end up being ways to point myself and my kids toward Christ).
I put my first designs (yes, from my website) on Etsy and on this post for you to see. My favorite part of starting this blog was and still is the design process. I urge anyone who is interested in making their own website to check out the Genesis framework with Dynamik. If you have no coding experience, but you want to be able to learn and have no limits with building a website and building websites for clients then this is for you. Here is a link to check it out…
They have a great forum for support, so that any questions you run into are answered by their knowledgable team. Even Eric the web developer answers your questions himself! When I first got my domain from Dream Host- I picked dream host because they were advertised on WordPress (I picked WordPress at the time because I noticed it was the management system that a blog I followed used) and had one-click installation (aka easy for a newbie). I still love the ease of use of WordPress to manage my website and the great support from WordPress as well as Dynamik. After starting to work on a website for a friend, I’ve checked out Go Daddy as a web hosting service and it does seem to offer more for your money than other web hosting services at a good price. When my year is up with Dream Host, I am thinking about changing to Go Daddy.
So why should you create your own website or blog? If you have a business or a skill that you want to market, but don’t want to pay a web designer the great amount of money that it takes to get a great website- that is where WordPress.org comes in, which is FREE. That is how you can get a great management system, but then how do you a great design for it? That is were Genesis Dynamik comes in (or if you are not motivated enough, that is where I come in ~ :) ). It does take time, reading, asking questions, and patience to do really anything, let alone create a website. There will be a lot of changes constantly that you will make, but that is what it takes to make anything work as you learn step by step.
So, in summary… Yes! is the answer to Genesis Dynamik for creating websites. You can create your own website with no limitations- as you do see limitations with Blogger and the other free blog management systems out there. They (Blogger and the like) give you set designs that you can not change, where as with Genesis Dynamik you are able to play around and create your site your way. And if this is not your thing, I would LOVE to do it for you for a lot cheaper. :) Here is a link to information on getting your website designed by GracefuLily ~ Click HERE
